In the spirit of building up the excitement for our Grand Opening, I will be releasing the Identities and Biographies of our Instructors every few days. I know you are at the edge of your seats, so I will give you some background about our Passionate and Professional Staff.

Our staff has been hand-picked to ensure the highest quality of training for our students. Almost all the Instructors have either their Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in their related field, and are educated in the most current teaching methods.

Although a degree is a wonderful asset to any teachers training, I do not believe that a teachers lack of a formal degree should be held against them. More than 75% of the most prominent Performers, Instructors & Choreographers working in the industry today do not have a higher education in their field, but rather have been immersed in their art for extensive periods in their life. I am a firm believer that experience is one of the key elements to becoming a great teacher. I don’t think anyone can teach, but I do believe that a great teacher can come from anyone regardless of their background.

Each of our Instructors has extensive training in each genre of dance that she/he teaches. They each participate in specific training exercises where they are refreshed on current teaching methods and all studio policies. This is a program that I created to ensure that all the teachers feel that they are an indispensable part of the studio and gives us all a common goal to work for. We are family… we keep each other motivated and are there for each other for help or support when needed.

Many of our teachers still practice and perform their art whether it be in local Company’s and in our Annual Recitals.

All teachers are encouraged to take classes from their fellow teachers in the studio. There are several advantages to this…

  1. It allows the teachers to maintain their dance technique & keep their minds sharp…
  2. It allows the teachers to observe each others teaching methods and how effective or ineffective certain aspects of it may be with the students…
  3. It gives the students the opportunity to observe their teachers as peers and for the teachers to lead by example. It will allow the teachers to show the students the type of respect and work ethic that is to be expected of them when they are taking class.

All of our Instructors are given literature on the most current child psychology studies. Teachers that teach ages 6 and under are required to study an instructional video on how to structure a positive, happy and fun dance class. All of these teachers have an assistant selected from our perkiest company level children. Having assistants to bridge the age gap and lend their enthusiasm while at the same time setting an example, allow young children to have a more enriching Arts experience.

All of our Instructors are caring, knowledgeable, patient and willing to work with Each student, as well as with each other. They are trained to provide a disciplined, encouraging and FUN learning environment for the students. They are very passionate about their Art, and in their classes their passion inspires, motivates and instills a joy for the Arts in the Students. Although our Instructors main focus is the students understanding of a strong technical base, they are also there to inspire and encourage each students individual expressiveness.

We at Artistic Soul Studios believe that everyone has an “Artistic Soul”, they just need the opportunity to explore it. I am honored to have the opportunity to give my Talent, and the talent of my Passionate and Professional Staff, to guide our students to find and perfect their “Artistic” Talent.
