After School Program with Transportation

In addition to our regular programs where you can pick up and drop off your child, we also offer an alternative for parents that cannot leave work to drive their kids to-and-from school.

This is an Optional Program that is available for parents that need to have their children picked up from school. This program is by application only and has a limited space.

As a parent, I am sure that whenever you spend time with your children, you help them with all of the following things:

• Help them build a strong character…

• Do fun activities with them…

• Help them be the best they can be in school…

• Develop their self confidence…

• Assist them in developing their unique potential..

• To learn self discipline…

• And much more…

In fact, most parents do everything they can to teach these things and much more to their children. But After School, many parents need some help. You either take time off from work or find a place for them to stay. However, the 2-4 hours that kids spend after school before their parents get home are some of the most important hours in a child’s life.

Let’s look at this example: The average child spends 3-4 hours somewhere after school before their parents come home. A child that goes from 1st to 7th grade spends about 200 days in school out of the year. This doesn’t even include the 8 hours a day for 2-3 months during the summer.

200 days time 3 hours is 600 hours a year a child spends doing what?

Some go to baby sitters. Some go home and play with their friends doing what ever they want. Other get into serious trouble. Not our students.

Between the 1st and 7th grade a child spends an average of 4200 hours doing basically nothing productive. This time is more valuable than you know. In 4200 hours you could graduate from college, get your Masters Degree and your Ph.D. So why wouldn’t you let your child spend this valuable time learning skills that will last a lifetime?

When our kids get out of school, their parents know that their child is being trained in real Life Skills. With our busy 21st Century schedules, it’s hard to find the time and resources to really help them with these important life skills.

You would think and expect that they would learn about perseverance, positive mental attitudes, self discipline, nutrition, goal setting, and get some exercise in school, but they really don’t.

Students who attend the after school program at Artistic Soul Studios, are a step up on others because we teach them about these important life skills and how to develop them to their fullest! Success traits that will pay off for the rest of their lives.

Dear Parent,

The fact that you are reading this tells me you want the very best for your child. So how do you go about preparing them for the challenges of our fast paced 21st Century? How do you teach them how to have a positive attitude, to be self motivated, to set and attain goals and to learn how to concentrate and focus? This is no easy task as this specialized type of education is not taught in our schools. It is not taught on our volleyball, basketball or soccer fields either. Unfortunately it’s not even being taught in our community organizations or religious groups. These life skills – if taught to children at a young age – can have a tremendous impact on the outcome of their lives and how successful they become.

During the many years that I have been training and teaching dance, I have seen countless numbers of young boys and girls who were very shy and lacked anything that resembled self confidence. Some of them could not focus or concentrate for more than a few seconds at a time. Others were overweight or were slower learners than their peers. Many of these children were not doing very well in school or in social situations because of their lack of self confidence.

I have a soft spot in my heart for these youngsters. I know that with the right direction and training their lives can be changed significantly for the better. As Artistic Director, I’ve personally made it my goal that we would teach much more than just the performing arts. At Artistic Soul Studios, I wanted to specialize in personal and character development along with a great performing arts education. I wanted to teach life skills that would make a difference.

We have focused our entire program around this premise. Yes, I do believe we have some of the best instructors to teach the performing arts, but that is not enough. A large portion of our children’s after school program curriculum is centered around Life Skills and Goal Setting.

These important qualities along with the understanding of goal setting, self discipline, concentration and a positive mental attitude are the cornerstone of our programs.

Over the years, I have seen thousands of children benefit from being involved in the performing arts.

• Overweight children who lost a few pounds through self discipline and exercise gained tremendous amounts of self esteem and self confidence.

• Smart children, who were bored in school, learned to set goals and reach higher.

• Shy children were brought out of their shell and learned to enjoy life.

• Overactive children learned to channel their energy and focus their attention

They say that once you learn to ride a bike, you never forget. Likewise, the skills and habits of success, once learned, become a part of your child. Theirs forever to achieve, grow and improve. I have witnessed this through thousands of children who have experienced involvement in the performing arts. I have had countless parents tell me their child is a different child after only a short time of being involved in the performing arts. Parents, teachers, and principals report a growth in confidence, improved self-discipline, growth in leadership skills, better grades in school and on and on.

What better gift to give your child than to empower them with greater self esteem, confidence, focus and concentration? At Artistic Soul Studios we have developed a specialized program which combines physical training with life skills development.

Daily Activities Include:

1. Reading and Study Time- Children will have the opportunity – if they choose – to study and do homework in a “quiet” room set aside for this program. A capable adult will watch over them and ensure order is maintained at all times.

2. Character Development- Engaging life skills lessons focusing on personal success (covering everything from Time Management to Dealing With Bullies and Strangers). Your children will stand head and shoulders above their peers when it comes to confidence, self-esteem, success skills, leadership skills and a positive view of themselves and the world around them. These lessons are woven into the performing arts classes and blend right in. They are not a sit down classroom type of program making it fun and engaging for students.

3. Performing Arts Classes- Since we are a Performing Arts Center, your children will be exposed to all forms of art. Children will be able to enjoy our after school program, take their performing art classes and return to the after school program without having to drive all over town. They simply walk across the hall. After school program participants can enjoy up to 5 weekly classes in any class that ends before 6:30. Additional classes can be added

4. Socialization- After Children have completed their studies (if they chose to) and performing arts classes they will have the opportunity to socialize with friends in a fun and safe environment.

5. Weekly and Monthly Lessons- Your child will receive character building take-home lessons that encourage your active involvement in your child’s development. Lesson topics include:

• Making and Keeping Good Friends
• Personal Hygiene
• Showing Respect
• Random Acts of Kindness
• Personal Safety
• And much more.

We have developed this program to offer you and your child the opportunity to find a fun and safe balance between school, personal interests and social activities.

We understand that this may not be the kind of After-School Program you are looking for. We are not a a daycare center, and we do no offer babysitting services. If you’re looking for a casual, unstructured, or care-free program we certainly are not the right program for you. If you are looking for the cheapest service, rather than a top-quality service at a great value, we are probably not what you’re looking for.

But if you like the idea of a structured after school program that concentrates on developing children who are growing stronger mentally, physically and emotionally- and who are enriching their life experiences through balance and discipline – then we may very well be the ideal program for you.

If your child is accepted into our program, they will be surrounded by a highly-motivated and dedicated group of children and staff who are committed to improvement and excellence. Your child will also enjoy improved concentration, study habits, time management skills and a new-found winning attitude.

All of this brings me to answer the question that may be in the back of your mind…

Cost.

Or should I say Investment. Like I mentioned earlier, we are NOT the cheapest alternative for an after school program with transportation. However, when you look at the options, we are probably one of the best values. Your weekly investment in your child’s future is only $129.00. (Transportation INCLUDED)

Now, let’s logically think about this amount for a minute…

If you currently work…
For the sake of example, let’s say you get paid $20 per hour (just an estimate folks!). If you must stop working from 2 to 6pm every day 5 days a week to run across town, pick up your child from school, and then go home for the rest of the afternoon that translates to about $400 per week of lost income. Of course the number shoots up dramatically the higher your hourly rate. Some folks justify going home with the kids after school as quality time. The problem is that many times “quality” time turns into work time anyway.

If you’re child is already in another after school program…
If you already have your child in an after school program perhaps you are paying $30 to $50 less per week compared to our rates. Is $30 to $50 something that will really influence your decision that much? If you go out to dinner to a mid priced restaurant 2 adults with minimal beverages will spend $50 or so for dinner. Isn’t it worth it to spend just a little bit extra on your child’s after school program to get way more than $50 or so in value? Just some food for thought.

Anyway, I think perhaps I “jumped the gun” because this program is by application only.

We simply do not yet have the resources to manage this program on a large scale. We want to make sure that everyone that participates enjoys maximum benefits. So we are currently taking applications for this program and can only handle 15 people. Even if you plan on doing our program on a week to week basis, we still need to accept your application and add you to our system.

My philosophy is that every child is special

Our Instructors are trained to give each child attention so that every child feels important, makes steady progress and continues to grow and improve.

We get to know each child’s strengths, weaknesses and motivation. With many years of combined experience, our Full Time instructional staff is focused and competent to meet the needs of even the most challenging students.
